This Saturday we delved into Workplacement preparation. To prepare the students for starting their practicum in centres, we did the training with hands-on skills in making playdough and practised reading out loud. The students will take with them these practical skills and language strategies to assist in children’s learning in childcare centres.
In our Saturday class today, we are studying the unit of “Promote and Provide healthy food”. We put our new skills into action and made a great healthy shared afternoon tea. The students demonstrated teamwork, food safety skills, knowledge about the nutrition of fresh fruit and vegetables…great class! Well done! —-Dona
The students explored how making a poster for healthy eating and drinking to place up on their walls for Childcare, can have a major impact on educating children and their families. We all had a great time making these posters, having group discussions and connecting this activity with the National Quality Framework. —-Trainer: Bronwn
The students were exploring Aboriginal culture today by painting symbols and creating interesting stories with natural sticks and paint in class……They produced meaningful artworks to show the children in their child care centres.
